Volunteer Subject Matter and Course Benchmarks

The voluntary benchmarks below (pdf) represent the collective work of numerous members of the Independent Sacramental Movement (ISM). The purpose of this listing is to provide common benchmarks by which independent, inclusive seminaries, schools of ministry, and formation/continuing educational programs can voluntarily assess the progress and content of their courses and programs. The goal is for these benchmarks to serve as a convenient tool to help jurisdictions and students measure and evaluate the content (knowledge and skills) of the courses offered by various ISM educational providers against their own standards and learning goals for formation, theological, and continuing education.
